Yarns are hand dyed in the workshop in sunny rural Suffolk. The wool is wonderfully soft and perfect for garments that touch the skin, such as jumpers, scarves and hats and gloves, shawls and even baby blankets.

All yarns are dyed using acid dyes to create the wonderful colours. The process involves thorough wool washing and rinsing pre and after dyeing followed by gentle air drying.  The colourfastness and lifespan of the yarn relies on careful maintenance.  Please be aware that any woollen product will last longer if it is hand washed and dried flat. There shouldn't be colour run, however if this occurs it will be minimal.

Skeins are dyed in batches of 4-8. The dyelot colours may vary slightly between dyelots,  so please ensure that you have all the yarn you need from the one dyelot before commencing your work.

Every skein is lovingly combed and inspected.

Colours shown on your screen are as close to the colours as possible, however there may be variations between your screens colour calibration and the lens of my camera.  Every effort has been made to provide as accurate colour representation as possible. Colour swatches are available on request. For a colour chart please email info@madrigalyarns.com.
